I am currently on the plane right now (on my way to Washington D.C) and beginning to think that Aaron and I are freaking NUTS! It is 3:00 in the morning (Pacific Standard Time)…what we are used to as far as sleep goes and we should be landing in D.C in about an hour…where it is 7:00am…We are running off about 1.5 hours of very uncomfortable, crowded, neck bending, sleep in a airplane chair that is made for the size of a 14 year old…LoL!
I laugh now, but when we land, we won’t be sleeping for quite some time, and at that point I probably won’t be laughing! We actually, depending on how we feel…since we do tend to get some second and third winds when we do these types of things…may take a power nap in the middle of the day.
So when we land in D.C. we will pick up our bags, get our rental car from Hertz, drive off to view numerous things in D.C like the National Arlington Cemetery, The National Mall, White House, Capital Building, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Washington Monument, National Archives, National Holocaust Museum, and 2 Smithsonian Museums….Somewhere in the middle of all that, we will probably check into our hotel and take a quick power nap.
Aaron and I actually have a friend that lives in Maryland and he invited us to dinner…so we are going to catch up with an old friend and his girlfriend over dinner and I am thinking he may be able to show us around even more since he is so familiar with the area…maybe we will see some secret local spots!
