After we went through most of the National Mall, we were wet from the rain, tired from the lack of sleep and sore from the ridiculous amount of walking...so we decided to check-in to the hotel and rest up. I knew we would need a power nap...that plane flight sleep just wouldn't cut it! We got in and laid down at 5:50 and set an alarm for 7:50 because we were going to be meeting some friends for dinner...and I PASSED OUT!! I don't think I have ever had such a deep sleep. I slept right through the alarm!! It was that I am sinking through the mat, making a puddle of drool on my pillow, sweet dreams, don't bug me kind of sleep!! AWESOME! It was just what we needed!!
Once we got up and got ready, Andy, a friend of ours called and he was on his way to pick us up to take us to dinner with his girlfriend, Erin. I actually had never met Erin before (Aaron had)...so I was excited to meet his long time girlfriend! We went to a restaurant in the Georgetown area called Cabanas...it was SOOOOO good! I had my first ever chimichanga (well...I ate the ones that cost $1.00 in middle school, but I have never had a real one) and it was AMAZING!! I ate the whole thing!! And it was so great catching up with Andy and meeting his girlfriend Erin...she was so nice...very personable and friendly...one of those kinds of people that everyone loves! We had a lot of fun. Oh and after dinner we drove by the World War II Memorial so that we could see it at night (the fountains are lit up)...Beautiful!
