New York

After leaving Philadelphia we drove to Secaucus, New Jersey because that is where our hotel was....when we were planning this trip we looked EVERYWHERE for hotels in New York...the prices are unreal...I found some for more than $1500/night!!...We tried looking for some really cheap ones, but we couldn't find anything under $300/night, so we decided to stay right outside of New York in Secaucus since it was a LOT cheaper and we could just take a path train into New York....anyhow...we stayed at the Hyatt and WOW...the room was AWESOME!!! Here are some pictures...

The HUGE flat screen TV in HD!...This was Aaron's favorite part of the room.
The Super, Super Comfortable Beds

As soon as we got into the hotel, I called my best friend Muna (who lives in New York) so we could meet up and she could show us around....we decided that before we met up that Aaron and I would drive to the Liberty Island ferry so that we could see the statue of Liberty and then we would take another ferry into Manhattan to meet up with her. Anyhow, so we drive into the Liberty Island ferry parking lot and lock up...we get out and try to find the way to the ferry, where to pay and all that....and it was CLOSED! BOO! But it was OK, because we actually could see the Statue of Liberty from where we were standing...we just weren't super close to it.
After snapping a few pictures, we left and started following signs to the Manhattan ferry....but apparently we were no where near that ferry...we were deep into New Jersey (according to some locals that we stopped for directions)....we were WAY lost...I called Muna and she tried to help us but she isn't familiar with New Jersey...but luckily while I was on the phone with her we came up to something called the Holland Tunnel...she told us to take that..that it would take us into Manhattan...so we waited in the most ridiculous traffic I think I have ever been in in my entire life to get into and out of this tunnel....Let me tell you....people on the east coast drive freaking insane! I have never heard so much horn honking, crazy maneuvers and serious speeding. While we were waiting to get into the tunnel there was this guy that just laid his hand on the horn...seriously for like 10 minutes straight!! Really?? I mean, we aren't going anywhere..honking isn't going to make the traffic move!! You are just annoying me! LoL! Anyhow...we finally get out of the tunnel and Muna told us where to try and find parking...so we exited 79th street off of 9A and were SOOOOOO lucky to find legal and free parking right in front of a little market on 77th street. We sat and waited in the car for Muna who was meeting us in front of the market....I have seen so many freaky movies about New York and heard stories about New York so I wasn't getting out of the car until Muna was there and we knew where we were and everything....I even flipped my wedding ring upside down so that the diamond was on the palm side of my hand..LoL!

Anyway...Muna came up to the car..and nearly scared the crap out of me...and we headed off...it was so good to see her!! I hadn't seen her since Christmas...she needs to move back home already...you hear that Muna!?!?!

The first place Muna took us was Times Square so we could experience the Glitz and Glamor that is New York...
Muna and I on my very first Subway ride!

At the M&M store
Look at all those M&M's!!
Hershey Chocolate Store
I know...not a very exciting picture...but I had to post it!...It is a vent that is just above you when you enter the Hershey Chocolate store...when we walked in we had an overwhelming amount of Hershey Chocolate smell come over us....this vent dispenses air that smells like Hershey chocolate! How freaking cool is that!?!

After walking around Times Square, Muna took us to the Empire State Building...but that deserves a post all on its own!
