The National Mall in Washington D.C.

It took us a little while to find it (those roundabouts are tricky!) but when we got there...it was beautiful! Today, at the National mall, we visited the Washington Monument, Korean War Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Marine Core Memorial (Iwo Jima), World War II monument, the Reflecting Pool (as seen in Forest Gump!), The White House, and the Vietnam Memorial Wall.

The Korean War Memorial:
This Korean War Memorial Wall has etchings of soldiers on the wall....it is amazing..if you stand directly in front of it, you don't see the soldiers, but you can see the soldier etched in farther down the wall...it is very cool.
Freedom is Not Free...

The Washington Monument:
This photo was taken at the top of the Lincoln Memorial.

The White House:
World War II Memorial:
The Lincoln Memorial:
This is where Martin Luther King gave his famous speech (on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial)
At the top of the Lincoln Memorial....look at how huge the pillars are!!!

The Reflecting Pool:
There were tons of ducks and ducklings at the Reflecting pool...and I have to say...the ducks (especially the female ones) are WAY more beautiful than the ones in San Jose...they even have little patches of blue feathers!
Very happy to be on our trip! =)

Marine Core Memorial (Iwo Jima):
Vietnam Memorial Wall:
The fought together, they died together, they deserve to be remembered together...
