Whistle While You Work (Day 2)

On to day two of the bathroom remodel! The goal for today was to get all the tile down and guess what?? We did it! I am really proud of all our work as this is the first time either of us has done something like this and everything is going so smoothly! We really have learned so much in this whole process, from how to put down the tile, use a tile saw, and the whole flooring process. It has been a great experience.

Here are a couple of pictures of Aaron and I getting familiar with the tile saw, which by the way is one of the coolest tools I have ever used!! Thank goodness for my dad who has every tool known to man...if he didn't have one, it would have cost us $85/hour to rent one from home depot!

And here are a couple of pictures of us in the middle of laying the tile down. Aaron's is spreading the adhesive, and I am laying some tile. We really made a great team! At first, Aaron wanted to lay the tile while I sort of helped him along. And he put down a few pieces of tile and I look at it and start thinking it is looking kind of crooked. He backs up and takes a look and agrees. So we decided that I would lay the tile down (since I have a bit of an artistic touch) and he would be in charge of measuring and cutting the tile. It really worked out great!

It took some time, but we got it all done! And I must say that we did a pretty damn good job! Here is a picture of the finished product. We still have to put in the grout, but once we do that and let it settle, the floor is done!! After the floor is all done, we are going to put in the new toilet and paint!! Oh yea, and possibly, sand and refinish or paint the vanity and replace the medicine cabinet and light fixture.

MORE TO COME!!! =)
