Journey to San Diego!

Yesterday we left with Tony, Libby and Jennifer for San Diego! We planned to leave at 8:30 and we left just a teensy bit late....8:45. Oh and Tony and Libby's family had been telling us horror stories about traveling with the pint sized friend with giant sized packing habits....I was expecting the worst...yea, she wasn't bad AT ALL! We fit in everything with ease!

Now, we expected the trip to be something like 8-8 and 1/2 hours, but it ended up taking us 11 hours because of RIDICULOUS traffic! We first hit traffic just before the grapevine. There were millions of cones and what we thought would be hundreds of workers to take the road from 3 lanes to 1....but alas, there was ONE lone worker....and worker is a generous term. The next bit of traffic we hit was in L.A....you know, that famous L.A. traffic! OMG...I could never live in L.A. The traffic would drive me batty!

And you know what?? Even with all the traffic and all that time in the car, Jennifer was AMAZING!! She really did sleep most of the time, and even when she was awake she didn't have any major meltdowns....Libby was able to keep her entertained making Indian and motorboat noises using Jennifer's mouth for about 45 minutes...Poor Libby...her arm was burning!...but we were all definitely entertained!

Oh and Libby started a new thing with Jennifer that she deemed the bird cage.....when she wanted Jennifer to sleep, she put the blanket up over the car seat and Jennifer would fall asleep...it was super cute!

Even though the ride was 11 hours, we had plenty of things to keep us entertained...First came the boobies...very interesting architecture!
Then we stopped for lunch at Chili's....YUM! And after Chili's we went to Walmart (my favorite Walmart in Valencia and my usual stop on the way down to Disneyland) to look at funny shirts....We all bought at least 1 shirt. Aaron got a superman shirt and my family drives me crazy shirt! Libby also got a superWOMAN shirt! And the tonester got a make yourself useful, get me a beer shirt...and I got a Tinkerbell and Eyore shirt! Woohoo for awesome and cheap shirts!

Jennifer also had a special surprise for us all in the crazy L.A. traffic...all windows were down and Aaron was working his hardest to get to an exit! LoL!
This is the first poopy diaper Aaron ever saw....I wanted him to see because I knew he had no idea was a baby poppy diaper looked like....he was shocked and it was hilarious! I promised him that if he changes 1 poopy diaper, that I will buy him a slurpee everyday for a week! He says he'll do it, but we'll see if he actually takes action!

And the other thing that kept us entertained, well at least me entertained, was the sky writing!! Someone was writing in the sky!...I had never seen that before!
The guy ends up writing "seek the six" which made absolutely no sense to me, but later we came to find out it is some kind of comic book thing....down here in San Diego there is a large comic convention and with that comes some weirdo's of course and, I guess, sky writing!

Me enamored with the sky writing!
Libby and Tony making funny faces!

Shortly after the sky writing, we made it to Tony's mom's house and we had yummy lasagna!..and we hung out with some of Tony's family...
With Grandma
With Uncle
Playing with Mr. Aaron
Always smiling!
You looking at me?

and basically we passed out shortly thereafter.
