Homemade Apple Pie!

Yesterday was not a very happy day for me so I decided that I would bake myself and my family a delicious homemade apple pie. This is the first time I have ever attempted a homemade apple pie but I wanted to try it and I am so glad I did! It came out pretty damn good!

All the apples in....Look at the mess I make when I bake! =) I don't have a picture, but before I put on the lattice top, I poor the glaze I made for the apples on top of the entire pie.

Oh and my family loved it....I heated it up, drizzled some caramel on top of the lattice top and scooped some vanilla ice cream for each piece! HEAVEN! They loved it so much that I will definitely be making this again!.....J.C, who doesn't even like pie, and isn't usually the first to offer compliments said that it was really freaking good...like really good and that he wanted more...but he ate the last slice! That was a HUGE compliment because he isn't easily impressed! My sister really loved it too....she even said I am in the wrong business...that I should open up a dessert place and sell my cakes, pies and other goodies. Aaron, who also doesn't really like pie, loved it as well...he even ate 2 pieces! My mom always likes the foods I make..so of course she loved it! =) And my dad, who will straight up tell you if something sucks or if it could be better, loved it! I am pretty damn proud of my homemade apple pie! =)
